Love everything about this! (I've got curly hair. Weird!)

Scrapping a quick page while waiting for trick or treaters. FYI ... we've had only three groups of kids tonight. Where are all the kids? Am I really going to have to eat ALL the candy I bought?! EEK!

Happy Halloween!

2 more intro pages ... October Pixels & Co. Template Challenge

Two more album intro pages done! I used the same design for each (using the Pixels & Co. October template challenge). Since they're both completely different albums I figured it didn't matter! I think I might just be done with covers now. Yay!

NOTE ... pulling together pictures for these pages I had a chance to look through so many old photos. Oh my gosh, it was so fun! Now, while I've got album covers done, I've now got a ton of old photos and stories I want to scrap! LOL!

Catching up! Intro pages to my son's high school albums!

I'm on a roll ... I'm catching up and making intro pages to my kids' albums! I made a couple pages earlier this week for my daughter's albums and tonight I made intro pages to both of the high school albums for my son. (He's a senior so his most recent album is still ongoing.) Yup ... I'm patting myself on my back. ;) LOL! I'm pretty much of a procrastinator when it comes to making intro pages, and I'll admit it, I'm still behind and have more intro pages to make - but hey, it's a start. I got motivated because I looked through their albums and ordered a couple more We R Memorykeepers 3 ring binder albums to break up the books in logical places (the books were getting WAY too heavy!). I'm making progress!

Anyway ... here are the pages I made for my son's 9th - 10th grade album and 11th - 12th grade album!

NOTE ... the 11th-12th grade album intro was inspirited by a layout by ladyesterat Pixels & Co. You can see her layout here.

DSD (Digital Scrapbooking Day) | Template Challenge (Shopping with the DD)

I've got another layout to share with you this morning! As you probably know already, it's the start of the festivities for Digital Scrapbooking Day at Pixels & Co. (and all around digi land). My friend Rachel Alles and I are hosting a template challenge. Rachel created a gorgeous template for you to download for FREE and simply follow the "Official Rules" (below) and you could win prizes.

Rachel and I each created a sample page to help inspire you. I wanted to share with you my page, Rachel's page and of course the template inspiration. Also, I'm going to come back and give you the link to all the details (and download links) for the challenge! You want to win prizes and download a free template right?

FYI ... both Rachel and I created our pages using a new kit that you can get for FREE by following along with the Pixels & Co. Designer Blog Hop. Once I've got a link to start the blog hop I'll come back here and leave that for you as well! (Here's the link to the forum thread.)

Here's my page:

DSD (Digital Scrapbooking Day) at Pixels & Co.: Intro Page to my DD's High School Album

It's Digital Scrapbooking Day ... ok, lets call it Digital Scrapbooking week. There's so much going on over at Pixels & Co. - lots of sales, and games and challenges! You name it! You'll definitely want to check it out!

I'm going to have a few pages to share with you. I created this page with a new release collab (on sale!) by Mommyish and Anita Designs. I'm organizing my kids' "kid albums" and part of what I've got left for each of their books (in addition of course to new pages to add to their books) is to create intro pages to each of their albums. This page is the intro page to my daughter's 9th and 10th grade album. Since she's just starting 9th grade ... and because it bugs me that I never make intro pages to the kids' book until the book is complete ... I left a spot to add a photo I'll take at a later date. I'm kinda excited to be getting these album covers completed!

Project Life | Week 43 + celebrating our 20th anniversary

It was a busy week. Along with the goings-on of everyday life, my husband and I also spent the weekend in Minneapolis to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Because I like to add some extra details in my Project Life albums, when there's a big event or some sort of big happening that takes place during the week I'll create my "regular" weekly Project Life spread but then I'll also create additional pages to highlight that event. Well ... I decided going away for the weekend for our 20th anniversary warranted it's own couple of pages (and I captured some pretty city photos with my iPhone), so here goes with our week ...

Project Life | Week 43 (Our 20th Anniversary ... extra pages)

Jumping ahead a little bit ... Last night I scrapped my Project Life pages for my husband and my 20th anniversary celebration this past weekend. Tonight (or tomorrow) I'll put together my "regular" PL pages for the week. For me, when a big event of some sort takes place during a week I like to include additional Project Life pages. The inclusion extra pages make for a little bit bigger book at the end of the year, but I really love telling a more detailed story.

Amazing new releases from Mommyish at Pixels & Co.

I've got a couple of new layouts to share with you. Leah (Mommyish) released some A*M*A*Z*I*N*G new templates and I simply HAD to play with them. They are just so incredibly fun.

This first layout is an intro page to my daughter's 7th - 8th grade album. (I'm getting my kids' albums organized and making intro pages!):

Here's another one. This layout was a bit more complicated, but still super fun and easy to use!

I see you

I came across this photo of my daughter last night and I loved the beautiful photo of her and that there's a reflection of me taking her picture in her sunglasses and I just had to play with it (and the other photo of her with me in the reflection)! I love making the occasional page with a full-page photo! They're my fave!

NOTE ... I just realized that I scrapped this photo already. I completely forgot. LOL! Oh well ... this page is completely different so that's ok. I just think it's funny that I forgot. Have a great day!!

Pixels & Co. Digi Morph - By the Sea

Have you heard of a digi morph? (Each person sees the person before them's page, takes inspiration from some part of the page and designs their own page. Once they get their page scrapped they send it off to the next person on the list and the morph goes on.) Here's the page I made for the most recent digi morph at Pixels & Co. If you want to see just how a digi morph works, check out the linked forum thread. Look down

A forgotten birthday page! (blast from our past)

Here's a blast from my past. I was looking through old photos and my son's scrapbooks and realized I had never scrapped a page about my son's 14th birthday - so of course I wanted to do that now! I also realized that I've got lots of memories I haven't scrapped from a few years ago that I may want to go back to some day. Ahh ... there's always something to scrap!

Success! Oma's surgery

My mom had major surgery on her spine about a month ago and she spent three weeks with me and my family at our house to begin her recovery. She amazes me! I hope I'm that I'm half as strong as her when I'm 77! Way to go Mom!

Digi supplies ... not just for scrapbook pages! (Facebook timeline covers perhaps?)

Gorgeous digi supplies ... they're not just for scrapbook pages. I made a quick new timeline cover for my Facebook page last night and thought I'd share it with you.

And since it's digi ... I made a couple of quick changes and changed it up a bit for my Facebook Design page as wee. FYI, my Facebook design page is Barbara's Digital Designs if you want to come by and "Like" my page.

Digi Project Life | Week 41

Sharing another week of Project Life. It was fun to include family photos from my niece's confirmation!

Supplies used:

My Blurb vacation album arrived!

I'm super excited! The vacation album I made for our trip to the East coast this summer arrived from Blurb last week. As always ... I'm very impressed with the quality of Blurb's books! Getting a book in the mail is like Christmas for me! I snapped photos of a couple of the pages and thought I'd share them with you.

FYI, I created my book using pretty much just Photoshop and three different fonts. I wanted it to look like a coffee table picture book and I think I achieved that look. Yay! I didn't begin with premade templates or anything ... I just created the pages as I went along for the particular photos I had in mind for the pages. It's quite a change for me not to us any embellishment or shadows, etc. but I love it! What do you think?

Treasured Mother-Daughter Moments
